Prof.s Biggs and Macdonald were each presented with a miniature version of the "The Broighter Boat”. The Boat, which dates from the first century BC (early iron age), is an important and unique example of early Celtic craftsmanship. The dimensions of this diminutive silver Broighter Boat (mounted on 200 year old elm) are : Size = 33mm long, 28mm high, 15mm wide.
